They did it in Vegas Print

Ava Gardner did it. Rita Hayward did it. Betty Grable did it. Donald Trump did it. Frank Sinatra did it. Sammy Davis Jr did it. Jon Bon Jovi did it. Britney Spears did it twice. Zsa Zsa did it three times. Mickey Rooney did it four times. Elvis never did it there. What they all did, except for the real Elvis, was get married in Las Vegas.

There are at least 50 wedding chapels  in Sin City, as well as facilities at every hotel for wedding ceremonies and celebrations. Vegas being Vegas, the wedding ceremonies can be as flashy and glitzy as the city’s neon lights. Because theaters there are full of celebrity impersonators, new-to-wed couples can have a fake Elvis, Madonna, Dolly, Marilyn, Barbra, Britney, Liberace or any of dozens of famous fakes attend, or even conduct, the ceremony.

An average of 200 couples get married daily in Vegas, including many seniors who go there to renew their wedding vows from 20, 30, 40 or more years ago. The cost, including a license, can be as low as $50 and as high as you’re willing to shell out for a big ceremony and reception at a high-class resort hotel.

If you’re interested in taking the plunge for the first or fifth time, or would like to renew the pledges you two lovebirds made many years ago, check the list of wedding chapels with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority at www.lvcva.com
