Grand Canyon

Talk about unfair discrimination! Whatever you think of, for or against, the state’s attempt to ID illegal immigrants is simply to impose laws already on the Federal books. To punish everyone in AZ for the action, especially its travel industry, we strongly believe the American Civil Liberties Union's drastic advice is totally misdirected.

We won’t go into opinions about the ACLU’s typical overblown political and social blather when it seeks headlines. That’s for our readers to decide. However, this ban won’t affect the few hundred Arizona politicians who voted in the unpopular enforcement of immigration laws.

A boycott against visiting Arizona will hurt hundreds of thousands of workers in the state’s travel industry, including those in hotels, National Parks, restaurants, transportation and dozens of other areas. Travel is the state’s biggest industry, and those workers will suffer very much from such an emotionally misdirected boycott.

If you’re planning to visit the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Saguaro National Forest, Phoenix, Tucson or any other of the beautiful tourist locations in Arizona, don’t change your plans because of the ACLU’s very prejudiced orders. There’s still freedom of choice in our nation.
