We’ve all heard the Biblical quote about turning swords into plowshares. Now China is doing something similar, and in a spectacular way that will attract travelers.
China’s tourism industry is spending $15 million to convert a Cold War-era Russian Navy aircraft carrier, The Kiev, into a luxury hotel. It is berthed at a military theme park in the Tianjin Province. The new facility, complete with 148 hotel rooms, restaurant, spas and leisure areas, is expected to be open to hotel guests sometime this year.
