On July 20, 1969, astronaut Neil Armstrong took that first historic step. The National Air and Space Museum celebrates the event all year. Discover the Moon Day on Friday, July 19, is a free event that includes a 3D tour of the moon image, museum scientists discussing lunar research and missions, and much more.
