Heeeee’s baaack! More than 30 centuries after his brief reign as a teenager, and 30 years after the original exhibition opened in San Francisco, ancient Egypt’s King Tut returns to the de Young Museum. The de Young in the city’s Golden Gate Park offers Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs.
The exhibit includes 130 artifacts from the tomb of Tutankhamun, along with other ancient items representing his family and other ancient Egyptian nobles from Egypt’s 18th Dynasty, which ruled for two centuries during 1,500 years before the Christian Era. It will be on view to the public until March 28, 2010 at the de Young.
The exhibition was compiled by National Geographic, Arts and Exhibitions International, and AEG Exhibitions and the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities. Commercial sponsors include Northern Trust and American Airlines. For more information, call the de Young Museum at 415-750-3600, or online at www.deyoungmuseum.org. |
