Orlando FL: Hot air balloon rides

Not counting the current political debates, where is the biggest hot air experience in the world? It’s a ride in Orlando, Florida by Aerostat Adventures. It’s a hundred feet high, 90 feet wide balloon and its passenger gondola below holds up to 24 people.

For a four-hour experience and great photo ops across the Central Florida landscape, including champagne brunch, the cost is from $145 per person. For more information, go to www.orlandohotairballoons.com

Opinion: Don’t Smart-Ass Test Airport Security PDF Print E-mail

A recent news item reported that a young guy in a wheelchair deliberately went through security successfully with banned items in his bag. He used a hidden camera to show how he brought metal tools and bottled water.

This very old travel4seniors.com writer frequently must use a wheelchair in airports, and believes that kind of stupid joke is beyond unfunny. It creates added problems for all physically-challenged passengers who cannot walk aboard their flights. Now that the guy’s offense has been revealed worldwide, airport security personnel are in increased states of alert. They will more thoroughly search every wheelchair and its occupant. This means wasted time, inconvenience and unnecessary physical requirements for us.

Of course, airport security isn’t perfect, but it’s totally wrong for amateur jokers to challenge it. For those of us who require wheelchairs, but don’t need more problems, we ask that only qualified professionals monitor all security procedures.
