Las Vegas NV: Fun With Bulldozers & Bullets


Here’s a twist on the old gambler’s lament: When fate hands you lemons, make lemonade. The new one in Las Vegas can be: When your slot machine comes up lemons, make like a bulldozer!

The theme may also apply these days to Vegas construction companies. When the building boom slows down, invite tourists to pay to play with your bulldozers!

Instead of letting all that equipment sit around waiting for the economy to recover, builders have created another fun Las Vegas tourist activity. It’s called Dig This. Visitors can now try it along with the usual comedians, singers, dancers, helicopter rides to the Grand Canyon, ogling Boulder Dam and, of course gambling.

QE2 to retire to Dubai, or maybe South Africa
No, no, not the real QE2, who’s still very active with her corgies in Buckingham Palace. Vacations To Go reports Cunard's legendary ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2 was retired from service last fall, and originally scheduled to be permanently settled at a Dubai United Arab Emirates dockside.

As with the old Queen Mary 1 in Long Beach CA, she was to be fitted out as a floating luxury hotel. However, the Cunard executives who make such decisions may change their minds and dock the QE2 in Durban or Cape Town, South Africa, where she’ll be a floating hotel there. South Africa is scheduled to host the World Cup Football (soccer) event next year in Cape Town. Stay tuned to find out what will happen to the old girl. No, no, not THAT old girl.
