Caugt In Heavy Highway Traffic? Take To The Air!

Is the Jetson family vehicle about to become a reality? According to a recent CNN Money article, AeroMobil, a Slovakian company, plans to start selling its creation, the AeroMobil 3.0, as early as 2017. The company claims that the vehicle "transforms in seconds from an automobile to an airplane."

The AeroMobil 3.0 is gas-powered and has wings that fold, which allows it to be parked like a car. Of course, the 20 feet long, the air/ground vehicle would need lots of special parking lot space, as well as an entire new set of regulations and safety rules for taking to the road and air.

Venice, Italy: No Tourist Roller Bags On Streets PDF Print E-mail

If a wheeled carry-on or suitcase will be with you when you arrive in Venice, make sure you don’t break the law! Tourists and other visitors are no longer permitted to drag wheeled bags along the city’s ancient streets and bridges.

According to the Venice City Council, they cause too much damage to the fragile thousand-year-old paving stones and steps. So, if Venice is on your bucket list, lug a backpack, fanny bag and anything else that won’t rut the streets. Offenders could be fined $600 or more.

Incidentally, the law is a bit discriminatory. It does not apply to local merchants and workers who regularly schlepp through the city’s stone streets with metal-wheeled carts and other heavy vehicles.
