Self-Driving Pods May Replace Taxis, Buses And Limos

The London Daily Mail reports the latest step in the process of automatic city transportation. Pod Zero of the RDM Group introduces driverless vehicles of various sizes that can haul from one to a dozen passengers.

In addition to safety features, they’ll also include accommodations for the elderly, wheelchair-bound and physically-challenged. The Pod interiors will offer video programs, as well as extended views of outside scenery.

The electric vehicles can go 60 miles before recharging, at speeds up to 15 miles an hour. In addition to service at airports, Pod Zero vehicles can also provide transport at multi-structure complexes, amusement parks, zoos and other large areas.
